Dan Rather is an American journalist and former anchor of the CBS Evening News. He was born on October 31, 1931, in Wharton, Texas. Rather has been a news correspondent for over 60 years, reporting on many historic events such as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Vietnam War, Watergate, and the September 11 terrorist attacks. In addition to his work at CBS, Rather also worked for ABC News and has written several books. He has received numerous awards for his journalism, including 32 Emmy Awards and 11 Peabody Awards. Rather also hosts a podcast called "The Big Interview with Dan Rather," where he interviews prominent figures in politics, entertainment, and business.
